Actress Dominique Perry (left), who shares a daughter with “Insecure” star Sarunas Jackson, defended abuse victims after she posted a meme trolling Keke Palmer (right).
Dominique faced backlash on Thursday after she uploaded a meme of Michael Jackson eating popcorn and laughing in a scene from his music video “Thriller.”
Dominique posted the meme around the same time Sarunas low-key referred to Keke as a “disgusting, vile, manipulative” person in a since-deleted Twitter/X post.
Sarunas made the comment shortly after it was reported that Keke filed a restraining order against Sarunas’s brother, Darius Jackson.
Following the backlash online, Dominique insisted she was not laughing at Keke’s pain.
In an Instagram post, she wrote:
“There was a repost of a post I made on yesterday. (There’s situations where you laugh to keep from crying.) Let me give clarity. I would never laugh at ANYONE that is subject to domestic abuse female or male….Women have been manipulated, abused, lied on for centuries, and put their head down for the fear of not being believed. We need to stop being afraid.”
On Friday, Keke was awarded temporary sole custody of her 8-month-old son, Leodis, with no visitation rights for Darius.
Darius was given 24 hours to turn his handgun over to police after Keke said she feared for her life because he owned a gun.
Darius was ordered to stay 100 yards away from Keke, Leodis, his nannies and/or daycare.
Dominique, who co-starred with Sarunas in HBO’s Insecure, fell pregnant after they had an affair in 2017. Their daughter, Zen, was born in May 2018.
