“Extreme Weight Loss” star Brandi Mallory was found dead in her SUV in an Atlanta Chipotle parking lot on November 9. She was 40.
According to the Atlanta Police Department, Mallory drove to a Chipotle restaurant on Northside Drive around 5:53 p.m.
Police reviewed surveillance footage that shows Mallory left the restaurant with her food and got into her SUV.
The owner of a nearby McAlister’s Deli noticed a lone SUV in the Chipotle parking lot in a strip mall that night.
The SUV was still in the parking lot the following morning. An employee at the deli observed a woman inside the SUV who appeared to be asleep.
Hours later, they called 911 because the woman did not appear to be breathing. Responding officers pronounced Mallory dead at the scene.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office did not release Mallory’s cause of death. Police said there was no sign of foul play.
Friends helped raise over $5,000 so Mallory’s parents could give her a proper burial.
Mallory’s family and friends held a candlelight vigil for her on Nov. 12. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2023 in Lithonia, Ga.
Mallory, who grew up in Georgia, appeared in season 4 of “Extreme Weight Loss,” which aired in 2014. On the show, she revealed that she weighed around 329 pounds at her heaviest.
