A crisis is brewing at the 2024 Grammy Awards as Hollywood agents reveal their superstar clients don’t want to sit next to Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs.
The Grammys seating plan is always a headache for organizers. The seating plan is shuffled around when bigger stars learn who they will be seated next to. Some bold name stars always sit in the front row with their bodyguards. But others have no choice in the matter.
The news that Combs may have r*ped and abused his ex-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura for over a decade shocked Hollywood and plunged the Grammy Awards seating plan into chaos.
According to the Mirror UK, a number of celebrity agents have asked for their clients to be seated away from Combs.
On Nov. 17, Combs, 55, settled a rumored 8-figure lawsuit with Cassie, 37, who alleged that he r*ped and beat her in front of staff and family members.
As a result, several Academy officials and big name talent agents are pushing to remove his name from the Grammy guest list. Or at the very least seat him away from other stars.
A music insider tells the Mirror UK: “The formal invitations go out this month. There’s conflict at the Academy as several voting members do not think it would be appropriate to invite Combs.
“Some, including several high profile African-American members, fear that inviting him sends the wrong message to audiences and the charities it supports. Several publicists have asked that their artists aren’t seated by him. It’s a logistical nightmare.”
Combs’ attorney Ben Brafman insisted that the settlement with Cassie “does not in any way undermine his flat-out denial of the claims”.
Two more women have come forward with similar claims against the disgraced music mogul. A representative for Combs also denied the latest allegations.
