Surveillance footage shows the moment an aspiring rapper gunned down a man before she was hit by a car in October.
Police say Kevhani Hicks fatally shot a man around 1:35 a.m. in Wynwood, Florida on October 9, WPLG reported.
Video footage, from NBC6, shows the petite rapper arguing with 2 men after getting out of a white Lexus. The verbal dispute escalated and one of the men body slammed Hicks. The two men get on top of Hicks, pinning her down, before she is able to get up and walk away.
Hicks then turned, reach into her purse and repeatedly fired a handgun at the two men. She pursues the victim around a car and fired multiple shots at him while he’s on the ground.
The driver of the white Lexus accelerated and slammed into Hicks before driving away.
Hicks managed to get up and flee on foot. The victim, who has yet to be identified, died from his injuries.
Hicks was hospitalized with minor injuries. She was later arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
Last month, a judge released Hicks on $50,000 bail and she was placed on house arrest with electronic monitoring.
Hicks’ public defender said the shooting was a “clear case of self-defense”.
