Last month, singer/songwriter Keri Hilson referred to a certain R&B singer as “insignificant” for being “rude” at her concert.
If you recall, Keri said the singer sat in the front row at her concert and her body language suggested she didn’t want to be there.
“We know how important it is to give love to other performers, especially when you happen to be sitting on the front row at their show,” said Keri during an appearance on “R&B Monday” podcast with hosts Tank and J Valentine.
Keri added: “She was with a gentleman. She was his guest. I know the guy very well. She was with him, so she was his – you know, and she didn’t want to be there. It was very obvious, and I felt disrespected by that.”
She continued: “So when they came to my dressing room backstage, I said something, and we almost got to scrapping. My Decatur came out, her town came out… It could’a got real ugly.”
Keri, 40, said she doesn’t remember exactly what she told the singer, but she nearly lost her religion.
“I just said, ‘Oh this is intentionally rude. You wanna get slapped?’ That’s how I felt. You’re calling me. You’re speaking to a certain spirit. You dialed it up, I got it on me. Like I said, I’ve always been secular! She dialed it up, she dialed it up!”
Keri said the argument grew so intense that bystanders ushered the singer away to avoid a brawl.
She said the R&B singer is “pretty insignificant at this point.”
Sandrarose.com readers guessed incorrectly that the “town” singer was Keyshia Cole.
Now Teairra Mari has come forward to identify herself as that R&B singer.
In a post online, Teairra threatened Keri with violence.
Teairra wrote:
“Y’all people gotta leave me the f**k alone. I don’t bother anybody, just leave me the f**k alone! so now, Keri! what’s up you wanna fight or do you not want to fight because I’m gonna whoop your ass when I see you I’m sick of you people bothering me! You had a whole different story when I was in your face you’re a liar b***h!!”
Teairra Marí Thomas, 35, was discovered by rapper Jay Z when she was 16. She released her first album, Roc-A-Fella Records Presents Teairra Marí, on August 2, 2005.
The aspiring actress is best known for role in the movie Lottery Ticket (2010) and as a cast member on Love & Hip Hop: New York and Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood.
