The trailer for a new TV movie titled “The Rapper That Got Shot In The Heel” is going viral. The movie, which is streaming on Tubi TV, is loosely based on real-life events.
The movie summary reads: “Music artist Raven The Stallion and Cory Gainz are having a secret love affair behind their friend Chelsea’s back. One night after a lot of partying and drinking everything goes wrong, leading to a shooting that will forever change their relationship.”
Director Alvin Gray insists any similarity between his movie and Megan’s shooting is purely coincidental.
Gray points out that rapper Raven (left) was shot in the heel – not in both feet like real-life rapper Megan (right).
Canadian rapper Tory Lanez was convicted in December 2022 of shooting Megan. He was sentenced to 10 years hard time in a California prison.
Director Gray followed Tory’s trial closely in 2022.
“I was intrigued by that whole thing. Because, this is my opinion, personally a lot of things didn’t make sense. Guilty, not guilty, whatever the case may be, certain things just didn’t make sense to me which is intriguing. That’s how I am as a filmmaker,” Gray said in a video shared on Instagram.
Another movie that streamed on Tubi TV, “The Nurse That Saw the Baby on the Highway,” was also loosely based on real-life events.
