Amy Robach has leaned the hard way that she can’t mix her career goals with her personal life.
Former “Good Morning America” co-anchors T.J. Holmes and Amy lost their “GMA3” jobs after taking their relationship public in 2022.
Their attempts to make a comeback in television have fallen flat.
Now they are barely staying afloat with their new podcast, “Amy & T.J.”
In a new episode, Amy, 50, tearfully said she would gladly give up her career for her man, T.J., who said he felt the same way.
She opened up emotionally about feeling “pressure” of the careers that were “taken from them” after they took their extramarital affair public in a series of scandalous photo shoots in 2022.
“We’ve always worked together, but working with this kind of pressure over our heads is a whole other thing … that pressure is a lot,” Amy said.
She then clarified that she wasn’t under pressure to stay with her lover, T.J.
“I don’t feel the pressure from the public to stay with you,” she said, adding tearfully, “But I feel the pressure of our careers that I believe were unfairly taken from us.”
“I really want to be able to do what I love, and I want to be able to do it with you and that’s more the pressure I feel,” she said.
Amy continued: “And love sometimes is a choice, when it’s hard, it’s not just a feeling. Lust is a feeling, but love is a choice I believe, and I have chosen to love you.”
Amy said she would be “devastated” if she gave up everything only to lose him to another woman.
“I would be devastated just personally because I want to be with you and I chose you,” she added.
If Amy and T.J. thought the public would embrace their adulterous affair, they were sadly mistaken. The backlash was fierce and ABC cut them both loose.
Eventually, T.J. 46, filed for divorce from his heartbroken attorney wife, Marilee Fiebig who believed his affair with Amy was just a fling and he would return home to her and their daughter, Sabine.
T.J. is pictured posing with Sabine and Amy at iHeartRadio z100’s Jingle Ball 2023 event in December.
Ironically, Marilee rebounded and found love in the arms of Amy’s ex-husband, TV actor Andrew Shue, 56.
Amy has made her choice to stay with T.J., even if it means never returning to television.
