Rumors are swirling after Kensington Palace announced Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, was hospitalized for “planned” abdominal surgery on Tuesday.
According to DailyMail.com, Kate had not been seen in public for 23 days.
That led to speculation that she may have been sick for three weeks.
In a statement on Wednesday, Palace officials said Kate was admitted to a hospital on Tuesday for “planned” abdominal surgery. She is recovering from surgery and expected to remain in the hospital for 10 to 14 days.
Two weeks in the hospital is a long time to recover for a planned surgical procedure.
The future queen is expected to be away from her royal duties for at least three months.
Prince William will also be out of the public eye for three months, according to Palace insiders.
The 42-year-old mother of three was last seen in public on Christmas Day when she attended church with the rest of the Royal Family.
She did not seem to be sick or in distress in photos taken that day.
However, there are rumors that Kate began taking Ozempic to maintain her thin frame.
Ozempic is a weekly injection prescribed to treat type 2 diabetes. One of the side effects is weight loss.
The FDA in the U.S. issued a warning that Ozempic causes serious stomach problems, particularly stomach paralysis.
There are also warnings that Ozempic causes “forever diarrhea” and intestinal blockage, a potentially deadly emergency.
If Kate experienced a bowel obstruction or blockage, she may have undergone surgery to remove part of her intestine.
Depending on where and how much intestine was removed, she might require a temporary ostomy bag.
In that case, recovery would take about 2 weeks in the hospital to make sure there are no complications.
