Lasheena Weekly, mother of slain Chicago drill rapper FBG Duck, held a press conference on Wednesday after a federal jury convicted all 6 suspects in his murder.

FBG Duck, real name Carlton Weekly, was gunned down while shopping in the city’s Gold Coast neighborhood on Aug. 4, 2020.

In a livestream video on Instagram, Weekly celebrated the guilty verdicts.

“I want to see y’all tonight at my house. We poppin’ bottles! We celebrating. We having a justice served party for Duck tonight.”

Prosecutors say all six suspects bragged about the murder in livestream videos on social media in the days and weeks after Duck’s death.

Federal agents took over the investigation after Chicago police dragged their feet for a year.

The six suspects – Charles Liggins, 30, Kenneth Roberson, 28, Tacarlos Offerd, 30, Christopher Thomas, 22, Marcus Smart, also known as “Muwop,” 22, and Ralph Turpin, 33, were arrested in 2021 and 2023.

All six were well-known members of the Black Disciples (BDs) street gang based in Chicago’s notorious Parkway Gardens, a housing project on O Block.

They were hit with RICO charges of murder in aid of racketeering and conspiracy to commit murder in aid of racketeering.

Prior to his arrest, Smart was hired as a bodyguard for Chicago drill rapper Lil Durk, who moved to the Atlanta area.

Durk reportedly paid Smart’s legal fees while the other suspects were represented by public defenders.

FBG Duck was reportedly killed in retaliation for dissing O Block legends, Odee Perry and T-Roy, on “Dead B*tches.”

An hour before FBG Duck was killed, surveillance video captured Liggins, Smart and others running down a stairwell at Parkway Gardens on O Block, according to the affidavit.

Prosecutors say the suspects had just received a phone call from an associate who gave them FBG Duck’s location.

But defense attorneys argued there was no proof the phone call was made.
