Music industry troll Lil Nas X dropped a snippet of his controversial new single “J Christ” on Wednesday.

The 20-second snippet features people wearing white robes impersonating Oprah Winfrey, Taylor Swift, Kanye West, Mariah Carey, Barack Obama, Dwyane Wade, Ed Sheeran and others.

Christians say “J Christ” is “blasphemy” and “disrespectful”, but LNX is more concerned that he is being compared to Madonna and Lady Gaga, whose shock religion songs were more well-received.

In a lead up to the song’s release on Friday, Jan. 12, LNX dropped an image of himself on a cross.

In response to the backlash, he wrote: “the crazy thing is nowhere in the picture is a mockery of jesus. Jesus’s image is used throughout history in people’s art all over the world.”

“I’m not making fun of sh*t. yall just gotta stop trying to gatekeep a religion that was here before any of us were even born. stfu.”

The president of Liberty University denied LNX’s claim that he was enrolled as a student there.

LNX tweeted:

“I know twitter hates me right now but i want yall to know im literally about to go to college for biblical studies in the fall. Not everything is a troll! Anyways IM A STUDENT AGAIN! LETS GOOO.”

LNX also complained that he is not being taken seriously as an artist.

His complaints resulted in a plethora of “STFU” posts on Reddit.com.

One person wrote:

“I’m not feeling Lil Nas X marketing this time and I usually love his troll marketing. I don’t care about him being disrespectful towards religion, that doesn’t bother me in the slightest but the whole thing seems try hard this time. Maybe because he already did the piss religious people off thing and it seems boring that he’s going at this again?”

Another user wrote; “God he really has been very annoying with this promo lately.”

And a third person added: “He reminds me of that annoying kid in class who is always joking around. I hated that guy.”
