A huge blaze at a mansion opened by Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill was apparently started by a child playing with a lighter.

Crews responded to the fire at the sprawling home in Southwest Ranches in Broward County, Florida on Wednesday.

Hill’s new wife, Keeta Vaccaro, and their family and pets got out safely, but the home was heavily damaged by fire and water.

A spokesperson for the Davie Fire Department said the fire was started by a child playing with a lighter in a bedroom.

The cause of the fire was ruled to be “accidental.”

Hill was at football practice in Miami Gardens, Florida when he got the call from his wife about the blaze, a team spokesman told 7News Miami.

“Tyreek has been in communication with his family,” the Dolphins said in a statement, via WSVN.com. “Everyone is out of the house and safe at this time. He has also left practice to deal with the situation.”

Property records show the 9,300 sq. ft. mansion was purchased in 2022 for $6.9 million. The property includes 7 bedrooms, 8 baths, a home theater, a basketball court and two guest houses, per NBC Miami.

The star wide receiver was acquired by the Dolphins in a trade from the Kansas City Chiefs. He signed a four-year, $120 million contract extension with the Dolphins that included $72.2 million guaranteed.

Hill made blog headlines when he was hit with paternity suits from two women who say he fathered their babies.

The 29-year-old Georgia native is voluntarily paying both women $2,500 a month in child support. But Brittany Lackner, who gave birth to his son in February 2023, says the money is “woefully inadequate”.

A second woman, Kimberly Baker, 29, came forward in May. She accused Hill of demonstrating “utter and abject unconcern” for their now-six-month-old baby girl, Trae Love Hill.

Baker told Broward County family court her child’s basic needs cost $10,000 a month.

Hill is already paying $13,500 in child support for three children he fathered with his ex-fiancée Crystal Espinal, 28.
