Beyonce is poised to take over country music. But some country music radio stations are resisting her efforts.
Country music radio stations are refusing requests to play Beyonce’s new songs “16 carriages” and “Hold ‘Em Texas.”
The new tracks are from Beyonce’s upcoming country music album, Act II, set for release on March 29.
Beyonce, who is a pop singer, released the two country music-themed songs during the Super Bowl on Sunday.
The songs were well-received by her fans on YouTube. However, fans complain that country music stations have refused their requests to play the songs.
One fan tweeted that a radio station in Oklahoma was discriminating against Beyonce.
“I requested Texas Hold ‘Em at my local country radio station (KYKC) and after requesting, i received an email from the radio station stating “We do not play Beyoncé on KYKC as we are a country music station. @BeyLegion.”

KYKC later caved to the pressure and agreed to play “Texas Hold ‘Em” after fierce public backlash.
So far, “Texas Hold ‘Em” has garnered over 2.3 million views on YouTube and is No. 1 on the iTunes country music chart.
“16 Carriages” has over 2 million views on Youtube.
