Video surveillance shows the final moments of Marayna Rodgers’s life before she was kidnapped and killed last December.
Las Vegas police say former NBA G-league basketball player Chance Comanche, 27, and his girlfriend Sakari Harnden, 19, kidnapped and killed Rodgers.
Rodgers’ body was found buried under rocks in an undeveloped neighborhood in Henderson, Nevada on Dec. 16, 8 News Now reports.
Rodgers and Harnden were s*x workers and friends. Comanche and Harnden allegedly lured Rodgers from Washington state to Las Vegas by pretending he was a client willing to pay for “kinky s*x”.
Rodgers (pictured) left her boyfriend and dogs at home to travel to Las Vegas.
The grand jury viewed surveillance video that shows Rodgers and Harnden walking in and out of a liquor store the night Rodgers died.
Surveillance video also shows Comanche and Harnden shopping at a grocery store hours after killing Rodgers.
Detectives obtained text messages exchanged by Comanche and a third, unidentified person discussing how to kill Rodgers.
In one text, Comanche said he would sit behind Rodgers in Harnden’s car and strangle her from behind.
Another text shows Comanche trying to recruit the unidentified person to kill Rodgers.
Comanche later confessed to strangling Rodgers with a HDMI cable.
Police arrested Comanche in Sacramento, California on Dec. 15, 2023 and charged him with first-degree felony kidnapping.
The Sacramento Kings G League affiliate Stockton Kings released Comanche immediately following his arrest.
Both Comanche and Harnden remain in a Las Vegas jail without bond.
