Usher Raymond’s son, Naviyd, swiped his father’s phone to message his favorite pop singer, Pink Pantheress, on Instagram.
It seems the British pop star, 23, ignored Naviyd when the teenager messaged her from his own Instagram account.
Naviyd, 15, is Usher’s son by his ex-wife Tameka Foster. They also share son, Usher “Cinco” Raymond V, 16.
Usher, 45, scrambled to get ahead of the story by explaining the situation in his Instagram Stories.
The father-of-4 said he checked his DMs and noticed a profile picture of a “Powerpuff Girl” and didn’t know who she was.
“I open it and I’m like oh this boy done DMd this girl from my damn phone,” Usher wrote.
“I’m so sorry … my son is a super fan,” Usher wrote to the “Break It Off” singer, who responded, “Don’t apologise! happy to have this interaction.” She then invited them to her next show, adding, “i’d love to host y’all at the next show.”
“Because my son is such a fan of her artistry… I decided to let him go [to her concert],” Usher wrote.
He then messaged Pink Pantheress, writing, “My son is at [your] show tonight. I had to send him considering his level of dedication and creativity….to figure out getting your attention through stealing my phone…that’s commitment. Hopefully you guys get to link.”
Naviyd shared a photo with Pink Pantheress on his IG page, and Usher re-posted it.
Usher explained why he went easy on his son for stealing his phone.
“Parental Takeaway,” he wrote. “This was a great moment for Naviyd…this was him movin on something he was passionate about.”
“Yes…he violated my trust in the process and for that I will never trust him around my phone, but I should have known better. Nonetheless, I appreciate the hustle and him makin in [sic] happen. From a text, to a concert, to the artist. He masterminded this whole thing and made it happen.”
