Universal Music Group denies reports that label executives ordered rappers Kendrick Lamar and Drake to quash their beef.

The endless diss tracks and bickering back and forth ended when Drake’s security was wounded in a drive-by shooting outside Drake’s Toronto mansion.

A Blind Item claimed the two rappers were summoned to a Zoom meeting with UMG execs. Both artists are signed to UMG via distribution subsidiaries.

According to TMZ, the Blind Item claimed that UMG honchos tried to force Kendrick to apologize for calling Drake a pedo, among other insults.

Insiders say Drake is considering suing Kendrick for damaging his reputation and public image by calling him a pedo.

The Blind Item said UMG asked Kendrick to issue a statement acknowledging that Drake is not, in fact, a pedophile.

However, TMZ‘s sources say UMG denied everything in the Blind Item.

“The way it was explained to us … Kendrick and Drake’s beef is between them and completely separate from the business side of things — and UMG just doesn’t think it’s their place to step in either way. So, they didn’t … nor did they ever consider doing so.”

Old skool rappers complained that the constant beefing was bad for hip-hop.

Boosie said, “I never seen so many men excited to see men tearing each other down.”

Meanwhile, fans say Kendrick’s associate, music producer Metro Boomin should have stayed out of the beef. Metro Boomin trended on X/Twitter this week after followers dug up 40 of his old tweets.

Metro Boomin tried desperately to delete his disgusting tweets about minor children. Unfortunately, his Twitter fingers weren’t quick enough.
