Justin Timberlake was arrested for driving while intoxicated in New York on Monday night. The pop superstar was taken into custody in the Hamptons and charged with DWI.

The 43-year-old singer/songwriter is still in custody and is expected to be arraigned Tuesday, June 18, in Sag Harbor, according to reports.

Timberlake is currently performing on The Forget Tomorrow World Tour. He is scheduled to perform Friday and Saturday at the United Center in Chicago.

Timberlake is often referred to as the “Prince of Pop” He is best known as lead singer of the 1990s boyband NSYNC.

NSYNC’s hit songs included “Girlfriend”, “Pop”, “Gone” and “It’s Gonna Be Me”.

As a solo artist, Timberlake has sold over 88 million records. His debut solo album, Justified (2002) spawned the hit singles, “Cry Me a River” and “Rock Your Body”.

He got his start as a member of The All-New Mickey Mouse Club where he met pop singer Britney Spears. They dated briefly and split in March 2002.

Timberlake is married to actress Jessica Biel. They share two minor children.
