Jaylen Brown responded to a viral video that shows him criticizing Bronny James during Monday night’s Summer League game.
Bronny’s G League Lakers took on the Boston Celtics’ G League team on Monday in Las Vegas.
Bronny scored 2 points on 1-for-5 shooting on Monday night.
Jaylen Brown sat courtside with his girlfriend, former WNBA player Kysre Gondrezick.
The Celtics star seemed to criticize Bronny’s basketball skills in a viral video. “Honestly, I don’t think Bronny is a pro,” he told Gondrezick.
Gondrezick agreed, saying, “I think he’ll be on the G League team for sure.”
As the video went viral overnight, Brown addressed the controversy on Tuesday morning.
“It’s a flex to have your son alongside you in the nba it reflects greatness and longevity !Bronny has all the tools around him to be successful I look forward to watching his growth,” he tweeted on X.

The Lakers selected Bronny with the 55th pick in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft. Lakers fans and sports analysts criticized the decision.
Lakers coach JJ Redick downplayed Bronny’s poor showing in the Summer League.
“He’s a development player. That’s how we’re looking at Bronny. He’s certainly going to spend time with the Lakers. He will spend time as well in the G League,” Redick said.
Redick added that Bronny was “an important part” of his “development program.”
“We’re going to develop his shot. We’ll develop his ball skills,” Redick continued. “He’s already got a great feel. He has a really instinctive nature on the defensive end.”
