Jonathan Majors reacted to the news that actor Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom is replacing Kang in Marvel’s next “Avengers” movies.
Majors was fired by Marvel execs the same day he was convicted for assaulting an ex-girlfriend in March 2023.
Majors, 34, played Kang the Conqueror in the film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023). Kang was set to feature prominently in “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.”
‘Avengers’ has now been scrapped and replaced by Downey’s “Avengers: Doomsday.”

Majors said he was “heartbroken” and he hoped to return to the Marvel Universe.
“Heartbroken. Of course,” Majors told TMZ. “I love Kang. Doctor Doom is wicked, though.”
TMZ then noted that Downey was being given a second chance to lead more Marvel movies despite his own history of legal troubles.
According to Variety.com, Downey was arrested in 1996 for possession of heroin, cocaine and an unloaded gun and given three years of probation.
“I think it’s fair that Mr. Downey is being and has been greeted with patience and curiosity and love … and [he’s] being allowed to work [his] art and be creative at that level. I didn’t really get that,” Majors said.
To his credit, Majors didn’t pull the race card.
Majors said he would return to Marvel in a heartbeat.
“Hell yeah! Hell yeah! I love him. I love Kang,” he says. “If that’s what the fans want, and that’s what Marvel wants then let’s roll. Hell yeah.”
