Vice President Kamala Harris plans to take assault weapons out of the hands of gang bangers. The presumptive Democratic nominee focused on assault weapons and abortion rights at her first campaign rally on Tuesday.

Harris ripped Republican candidate Donald Trump, saying “Donald Trump wants to take the country backward”.

The former prosecutor took shots at President Trump.

“I took on perpetrators of all kinds. Predators who abused women, fraudsters who ripped off consumers. Cheaters who broke the rules for their own game. So hear me when I say, I know Donald Trump’s type,” she said.

Then she announced her plan to ban assault rifles on the streets of America.

Harris said every person in the nation should have the “freedom to live safe from the terror of gun violence.”

“We’ll finally pass red flag laws, universal background checks, and an assault weapons ban,” she said, as the crowd cheered.

Harris, 59, announced her campaign for president after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race Sunday night.

She broke a donation record, raising over $100 million.
