A man confronted rapper Gunna and called him a “rat” during the 2024 BET Awards at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, CA. on Sunday.
Gunna was labeled a “rat” and a “snitch” after he accepted a plea deal to get out of jail following his arrest on RICO gang charges in 2022. Rapper Young Thug was also arrested on RICO charges. Fans of Young Thug assumed Gunna snitched as part of his plea deal.
Cell phone video uploaded to X/Twitter shows a man approach Gunna while he was speaking with two women backstage.
“Gunna Wunna man, you can’t be in the city doing all that rattin’ and sh*t,” the man said. “Rat a*s ni**a,” he added before walking away quickly.
One of the women with Gunna turned to the man and said “What?” before the video cut off.

The rapper looked a little shook when the man approached him from behind. Normally, Gunna is surrounded by security.
Gunna performed “Jump” with South African singer Tyla, who won Best New Artist and Best International Act at the 2024 BET Awards.
The BET Awards was hosted for the third time by actress Taraji P. Henson.
