LeBron James is in the blog headlines for the wrong reason again. The L.A. Lakers star sparked outrage on X (formerly Twitter) when he welcomed home drug kingpin Big Meech.
Meech (born Demetrius Flenory), 56, was released from a federal prison to a halfway house in Miami this week.
Once he completes his sentence on January 27, 2026, he will enter a five-year supervised release with drug and alcohol restrictions.
Meech is pictured at the Fulton County Jail after he was shot in the butt outside an Atlanta nightclub in 2003. Meech was arrested at a hospital following a shootout in which Sean Combs’s bodyguard Anthony “Wolf” Jones was killed.
Meech was arrested by the feds in 2005 and charged with operating a criminal enterprise through his BMF drug trafficking empire. He pled guilty in 2008 and was sentenced to 30 years in prison.
LeBron, 39, was among those welcoming Meech home on X.

LeBron’s followers dragged him for forgetting he’s a professional athlete with corporate sponsors.
Others said this is why LeBron will never be considered the greatest NBA player of all time.
“Welcome home a murder, killer of KIDS THROUGH DRUGS, killer of countless mothers, fathers hand FAMILIES”. You want to fit in so bad, wanna be hip and cool so bad that you just follow whatever is deemed cool at the moment. Shame on you. Grow tf up
