A Florida man who was arrested for making violent threats against President Trump is a popular drag queen and friend of Casey Anthony.
Shannon Depararro Atkins — a k a “Big Momma” — is friends with Anthony – the infamous Florida mom who was charged with killing her daughter, Caylee Anthony, in 2008.
Atkins, a 46-year-old bakery owner, was arrested Friday after a tip to the FBI threat center.
Atkins was arrested during a traffic stop in West Palm Beach. Agents found three baggies of cocaine in his pocket.
He faces one count of threatening to murder, and a second-degree felony charge for making written or electronic threats. He was also charged with felony cocaine possession.
Prior to his arrest, Atkins complained that he was banned on X (Twitter) for threatening Trump.
“I’ve been banned from ‘X’, because I said I hope and pray someone kills him,” Atkins wrote in reference to Trump. “History is supposed to repeat itself. We haven’t had an assassination in years,” he added.
In another post dated Jan. 14, he wrote, “Bullets please. Please Jesus! Save America”. He also posted a meme of Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Ronald Reagan, and Donald Trump. The meme read: “All Stood Up to Democrats. All Were Shot.”
Atkins captioned the post: “Unfortunately one is still alive.”
Atkins is known in the South Florida area as the owner of “Big Mama’s House of Sweets,” a bakery that specializes in cheesecakes. As part of his business, he dressed up as the drag persona “Big Momma” at brunches and other social events in the Palm Beach area.
Atkins and Casey Anthony regularly posted pictures of each other on their now-scrubbed social media accounts, the New York Post reported.
“Yes, they are friends,” a friend of Anthony’s confirmed. “She always said that he was really funny and she liked to hang around him because he made her laugh so much. She doesn’t like Trump either, but I don’t think their friendship is based on that. I think they just have similar senses of humor,” the source added.
Atkins is being held without bond and the Secret Service will determine if he faces federal charges.
