Katt Williams cracked jokes about fellow comedian Martin Lawrence in a recent standup comedy show. Rumors swirled last year that Martin suffered a stroke after his appearance at a Los Angeles movie premiere with Will Smith.

In a cell phone video recorded at his Los Angeles comedy show on Jan. 17, Katt commented on Martin denying the rumors.

“Martin Lawrence keeps saying he ain’t had no stroke,” Katt said, as the audience laughed. “But every time he do an interview, he look like he had a stroke! Now why won’t somebody say something?” Katt added.

“Ain’t nothing wrong with having a stroke and getting better. What is he hiding it for?” Katt asked.

Martin, 59, addressed the stroke rumors in an interview with Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning last June.

The “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” star revealed that he is in good health. Martin told Ebro Darden that he was surprised by the reception he and Will Smith received at the L.A. premiere.

“I was like, oh, this is rock concert stuff. What the hell is going on? I was like, for a movie?” Martin said.

He continued: “I’m fine. I’m in God’s hands. I’m blessed, you know? I’m glad to be waking up every day. I’m all good. No need for people to be concerned.”

Martin emphasized, “I’m healthy as hell. Stop the rumors!”
