Vice President Kamala Harris apparently disapproved of former President Barack Obama and President-elect Donald Trump joking during Thursday’s State funeral for former President Jimmy Carter.

Mr. Carter passed away on Dec. 29 while in hospice care at his home in Plains, Georgia. He was 100 years old.

On Dec. 30, President Joe Biden issued a proclamation announcing January 9 as a National Day of Mourning for President Carter. The stock market and some businesses closed early on Thursday to honor the 39th President.

Trump and his wife, Melania, arrived just after former Vice President Mike Pence and his wife, Karen Pence. Mrs. Pence refused to shake hands with Trump when he arrived.

Trump’s mood changed when Obama arrived alone and took his seat next to Trump.

The Internet was disheartened by Obama and Trump cracking jokes at Carter’s funeral. Social media users expected both men to act presidential at the funeral service for another president.

VP Kamala Harris and her husband, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, sat in front of Obama and the Trumps. She shot disapproving glances at Obama as he joked with Trump during the service.

Former President George W. Bush also seemed disturbed by Obama and Trump’s constant disruptions during the service.

Michelle Obama did not attend the funeral with her husband. Mrs. Obama’s office said she couldn’t attend due to a scheduling conflict.

Former President Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton sat next to Bush and his wife, Laura Bush. Social media users interpreted their sour faces as annoyance at Trump and Obama.

Trump supporters were furious that Trump and Obama appeared to be friendly at the service. Much of the reactions on social media were too disrespectful to repost here.
