R&B singer Tamar Braxton says she is doing just fine without a man in her life.
The 48-year-old “Love and War” singer revealed she’s been on her celibacy journey for the last year.
“I’m still celibate,” she said during the March 28 episode of The Breakfast Club. “Not even a kiss, not a date.”

She continued, “I have friends, casual conversation, but I’m not interested. There’s no one that I’ve been interested in.”
Her words conflicted with recent statements she made on Instagram.
In a recent video shared to social media, Tamar said she’s taking precautions while on the dating scene in Atlanta, where 1 in 3 men are diagnosed with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.
Tamar revealed that she is currently taking PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis), a medication that blocks the HIV virus from replicating inside cells in the body.

“I’m on PrEP, and I will tell everybody get on PrEP because prepare yourself for the streets.”
“It’s important to take care of yourself, no matter what your relationship status is,” Tamar said in the video. “And I’m just being honest about what that looks like for me.”
The PrEP drug is prescribed for sexually active men and women. Tamar is aware that the men she dates in Atlanta may be dating other men.
However, now Tamar claims she is abstinent, but she does still crave intimacy occasionally – although her long-term goals keep her from acting on her urges.
“Of course I [desire intimacy],” she said, “but where does that lead to? If they’re not like-minded and we’re not on the same page… I’m dating for intent, and nobody is dating for intent anymore. It’s crazy.”
The single mother shares son Logan, 11, with ex-husband Vincent Herbert.
“Here’s the thing: I didn’t want to keep introducing Logan to the people that were in my life,” she said during an appearance on Sherri Shepherd’s show that aired on March 26.
“I just want to mentally protect him as much as I can. I don’t want to give him any abandonment issues or anything like that.”
“There’s no way I’m going to bring another man into his life to be unsuccessful,” she said on an episode of her Life, Love, & Beyond podcast at the time. “There’s no way.”
