Beyoncé’s mom Tina Knowles announced her first-ever book tour last week. Now comes word that she’s charging $67 – $1,000 for a meet & greet.
Knowles, 71, is planning a nine-city book tour for her new memoir, Matriarch.
The book launch will kick off in Washington, D.C. on April 30 with stops in Los Angeles, Houston, Atlanta, New Orleans, Toronto, Chicago, Brooklyn, and London. Former First Lady Michelle Obama will moderate the event in Washington, DC.
The former first lady, 61, will sit down with Knowles and take questions from the audience.
“I’m still pinching myself that our Forever First Lady @michelleobama is kicking it off with me,” wrote Knowles about her close friend, while adding, “more fabulous moderator news is coming soon!”
She continued: “I can not wait to share my story in hopes of inspiring you to explore your own journey.”
So far, no moderator has been announced for the other cities on the tour.
Pop star Beyoncé, 43, praised her mom in a post on social media. Bey will launch her own tour in April in support of her Cowboy Carter album.
“Mama, I couldn’t be prouder. My love for you goes beyond what I can say. You put your heart into this book,” she wrote. “I’m happy for you to share some of the stories that shaped you into who you are. To know you is to love you. But please don’t spill too much Mama Tea.”
According to a synopsis, Matriarch documents Knowles’ life as a “precocious, if unruly, little girl” from Galveston, Texas, and her journey through “grief and tragedy, creative and romantic risks and turmoil, the nurturing of superstar offspring and of her own special gifts.”
Knowles is also mom to R&B singer Solange Knowles, 38, and “bonus daughter,” Kelly Rowland, 44. Knowles’ ex-husband (Beyoncé and Solange’s dad) Mathew Knowles is Rowland’s father.
“I can’t wait til everyone gets their hands on it!” Rowland posted on Instagram. “They will be inspired, they will connect, they will laugh, they will def shed some tears, and bond with you over the intimate details you have shared! I’m so proud of you!”
