Sheryl Lee Ralph was overcome with emotion when she was honored with a star at her Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in Los Angeles, California on Wednesday.

The “Moesha” star was joined by (L-R) William Stanford Davis, Tyler James Williams, Quinta Brunson, Lisa Ann Walter, Chris Perfetti and Janelle James.

Sheryl received the 2,808th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Her friends, family and television executives looked on as the star was unveiled. Friends and family embraced Sheryl when she became emotional.

Sheryl’s career spans more than four decades in theater, movies and television.

Sheryl, 68, is best known for her roles as Deena Jones in the Broadway musical Dreamgirls in 1981 and Dee Mitchell in Moesha (1996-2001). She was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for Dreamgirls.

Sheryl currently stars as school teacher Barbara Howard on the ABC sitcom “Abbott Elementary”, for which she won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. She became the first Black woman in 35 years to win the award in September 2022.
