Singer-songwriter Keri Hilson tearfully admitted she was forced to record the infamous Beyoncé diss track that ended her career.

During an emotional appearance on The Breakfast Club, Keri revealed music producer Polow Da Don forced her to record the leaked “Turning Me On” remix, and that she has protected the actual songwriter for years.

After Keri’s interview aired, singer-songwriter Ester Dean hopped into the comments on Instagram and took credit for co-writing the diss track alongside Keri. Ester said, “we wrote it together she sang it alone.”

But Ester later said she would apologize to Keri for not publicly supporting her when Beyoncé’s fans burned Keri’s career to the ground.

In 2006, then-aspiring singer Keri Hilson signed with music producers Polow da Don and Timbaland. In 2008, Keri appeared in the music videos for Usher’s single “Love in This Club” and Ne-Yo’s single “Miss Independent.”

In 2009, she released her debut studio album, In a Perfect World… which went gold.

The album spawned the single “Knock You Down” (featuring Kanye West and Ne-Yo), which was nominated for Best Rap/Song Collaboration at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards.
