Keri Hilson (right) called out fellow singer-songwriter Ester Dean for saying they co-wrote a Beyoncé diss track that ended Keri’s career 16 years ago.
During an emotional appearance on The Breakfast Club, Keri revealed music producer Polow Da Don forced her to record the leaked “Turning Me On” remix, and that she has protected the actual songwriter for years.
After Keri’s interview aired, Ester hopped into the comments on Instagram and happily took credit for co-writing the diss track alongside Keri. Ester said, “we wrote it together she sang it alone.”

In a lengthy post on her Instagram Stories on Thursday, Keri checked Ester for letting her take the heat from Beyoncé’s fans for 16 years. She also wasn’t happy that Ester said they co-wrote the song together.
“You used the word co-wrote. I RE-wrote 3 lines in your verse. Which was the only battle I won in the whole matter,” Keri wrote. “But you weren’t there when all this was going down, and we didn’t write it together.”
Keri listed the exact lines she wrote in “the softest section” of the song. Keri said she “strongly” disagreed with the “unnecessary hateful sentiments towards other women,” and she’s never been a fan of publicity stunts.
Then Keri addressed Ester staying quiet for all those years.
“You chose to stay quiet for 16 years, but coming out only now, when you felt a portion of the heat I’ve gotten all this time,” she wrote.
