A local deli owner in New York City is giving back to the community in a big way. Wail Alselwi, aka Island Ock, is known for his kindhearted generosity toward middle school children who earn good grades on their report cards.
Students who score 90% or above on their report cards receive $100 cash from Wail, and anything they want in his convenience store.

Wail’s generous “Food Grabs for Grades” program began when a 12-year-old boy named Zameir Davis stopped by Wail’s deli and said he wanted to be an honor roll student.
Wail encouraged Zameir every day. He promised Zameir that he could have anything in the store if he improved his grades.

True to his word, Wail told Zameir he could have anything he wanted in the store.
