An inmate who stabbed rapper Tory Lanez at a California prison has been identified as Santino Casio, 41, who is serving a life sentence for murder.

The Canadian rapper was stabbed multiple times in the head, back and face over an alleged drug debt, sources say.

Tory was stabbed seven times in the back, four times in the chest, twice in the head and once to the left side of his face at the prison in Tehachapi, California.

Both of his lungs collapsed, according to a post on his Instagram account.

“Despite being in pain, he is talking normally, in good spirits, and deeply thankful to God that he is pulling through,” the post said.

Tory was rushed to a hospital in Bakersfield, where he is listed in serious but stable condition.

Tory is serving a 10-year prison sentence for shooting fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion in the foot after they attended a holiday party at Kylie Jenner’s Calabasas home in 2020.

Tory, 32, was placed in protective custody housing when he was attacked on the yard. Casio is currently in “restricted housing” pending an investigation into the attack on Lanez.

Casio is reportedly a member of a Latino gang. Gangs are usually kept segregated away from each other to avoid gang wars in the prison system.

It isn’t clear why Casio and Tory were in the same area.

“[Casio] was sentenced to life with the possibility of parole for second-degree murder, first degree attempted murder, personal use of a dangerous or deadly weapon, and [inflicting] great bodily injury,” read a statement from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR).
