“Beyond The Gates” star Timon Kyle Durrett is set to co-host the Black Health Matters Harlem Week 2025 Summit & Expo in New York City next month.

Beyond The Gates is the first majority Black daytime soap opera in 35 years.

Timon plays Bill Hamilton, a ruthless law firm founder who will go to any length to protect certain members of the powerful Dupree family of Fairmont Crest, a fictional upscale community in Maryland.

One of those family members is Bill’s long-suffering ex-wife Danielle “Dani” Dupree (Karla Mosley) who is stuck in the past and can’t get over her ex-husband.

Despite having stage 3 hypertension and circulatory issues, Bill still managed to impregnate his much younger wife, Hayley (played by Marquita Goings).

But Dani is convinced that Haylee is faking her pregnancy. She will stop at nothing to expose Hayley’s cunning deception.

Timon, who grew up on the South Side of Chicago, says being involved in the Black Health Summit & Expo is important to him.

“There’s a lot of toxicity in the air, and food, and water, sometimes even in the entertainment that we intake. Things that we hear, we see, we eat, and that we put on and in our bodies are toxins,” he explained.

“And having a health summit and showing people what it’s like, if you have dirty carpet, shoes, or a car. It’s going to get dirty every once in a while, but you’ve got to know how to clean it, right? Know how to provide the things to get the bad stuff out and bring the good stuff in. It’s about balance.”

Timon’s character, Bill, suffers from high blood pressure and TIAs (mini strokes). He recently suffered a major stroke that affected his right side. But Bill made a miraculous recovery in just 2 weeks!

According to the BHM website, the goal of the Expo is to educate and empower attendees, both in person and virtually, with information on a variety of health topics and services of interest in our communities.

The expo will offer attendees free health screenings, giveaways, free breakfast and lunch.

The BHM Expo is being held Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 8 am-5pm EST at The Riverside Church located at 490 Riverside Drive, New York, NY 10027. Click here to register to attend.
