In a rare public statement, former President Barack Obama fired back at President Donald Trump who shared an AI-generated video of Obama being arrested by the FBI.

Obama’s office issued a statement after a string of attacks by Trump, who called for the Justice Department to investigate Obama after accusing the former president of criminal behavior.

Trump asked Tulsi Gabbard, Director of National Intelligence, to investigate Obama for “treason” after declassified documents were released last week.

Trump seemed to suggest that the documents show Obama was behind RussiaGate.

Gabbard sent a “criminal referral” to the Department of Justice pertaining to a “Obama administration conspiracy to subvert President Trump’s 2016 victory and presidency.”

Obama’s statement, issued on Tuesday, reads:

“Out of respect for the office of the presidency, our office does not normally dignify the constant nonsense and misinformation flowing out of this White House with a response. But these claims are outrageous enough to merit one. These bizarre allegations are ridiculous and a week attempt at distraction. Nothing in the document issued last week undercuts the widely accepted conclusion that Russia worked to influence the 2016 presidential election but did not successfully manipulate any votes. These findings were affirmed in a 2020 report by the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee, led by then-Chairman Marco Rubio.”

On Sunday, Trump shared an AI-generated video of Obama getting arrested by the FBI in the Oval Office.

The AI-generated clip begins with a speech from Obama saying, “No one, especially the president, is above the law.”

Then the scene switches to Trump and Obama sitting next to each other in the Oval Office in January. Suddenly, three FBI agents appear and two of them lift Obama out of his chair. Obama is forced to his knees and handcuffed behind his back, while Trump smiles with glee.

In the final scene, Obama wears an orange jail jumpsuit while standing behind bars.

Obama supporters reacted to the AI video. “The most racist sh*t I’ve ever seen,” wrote one X user.
