Candace Owens has backed off of her claim that Brigitte Macron, the wife of France’s President Emmanuel Macron, was born a man.

After Candace aired her 8-part podcast series about Brigitte Macron’s gender identity, the French couple sued her for defamation in a Delaware court last week.

Now Owens claims Brigitte was born a female – but she died and gifted her female identity to her brother, Jean-Michel Trogneux. Brigitte is seen as a child sitting on her older sister’s lap in a family photo. Her brother, Jean-Michel, is on the left in the same photo.

In her attempt to explain the family photo, Candace now claims that Brigitte the toddler died, and her brother is now assuming her identity as Brigitte.

“It is very clear that Brigitte Trogneux existed. It is very clear that she was in fact the sister of Jean-Michel Trogneux,” Candace says in a new podcast episode. She then went on to explain that young Brigitte died at some point, and her brother assumed her identity.

Candace previously said the French authorities would “fake kill” Brigitte so she won’t have to prove she’s not a man.

Brigitte Macron and her first husband have three children who look like her.

Meanwhile, Jean-Michel has been pictured with his adult sister, Brigitte. The Macrons included photos of the 2 siblings together as evidence in their lawsuit.
