Rumors spread like wildfire that former WWE superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson lost 60 pounds of muscle mass after he stopped taking steroids.

The rumors began circulating over the weekend when Dwayne looked very thin at an event to promote his new movie, The Smashing Machine.

However, Dwayne’s rep says he lost 60 pounds for his movie role as former UFC Heavyweight champion Mark Kerr, a.k.a. The Smashing Machine.

In June 2019, Mark, 56, revealed that he had been battling peripheral neuropathy for several years.

On Monday, Dwayne appeared at another event in Italy wearing a blue polo shirt and white slacks. He flexed his muscles to prove he’s still hot.

Fans who were used to seeing Dwayne’s muscular physique sparked rumors that he stopped taking steroids over fears that he will end up like his friend, former Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman.

Ronnie is unable to walk after multiple back surgeries and years of lifting heavy weights.

Dwayne received a 15-minute standing ovation when his film premiered at the Venice Film Festival on Monday.

In his review, Deadline‘s Damon Wise wrote that “Johnson owns the whole thing with his truly remarkable work as fighter Mark Kerr, disappearing so fully underneath Kazu Hiru’s astonishing prosthetics that the opening of the film, presented as contemporary footage from an event in Sao Paulo 1997, looks genuinely like the real thing.”
