Chauncey Billups was arraigned in a federal courthouse in Portland on Thursday, Oct. 23, following his indictment on gambling charges.

He is accused of helping the mafia steal millions of dollars from high roller poker players.

The Portland Trail Blazers head coach and his co-defendants allegedly used “very sophisticated” technology including card shuffling machines, special contact lenses and eye glasses to read pre-marked cards. They also used an X-ray table that could read cards that were face down.

At his arraignment, Chauncey wore a brown hoodie with the words “Klutch Sports Group” printed on the front.

Insiders say Chauncey wore the hoodie to send a message to Klutch Sports Group founder Rich Paul and his superstar client LeBron James.

LeBron is known to enjoy a good game of poker. Last year, LeBron’s former Miami Heat teammate, Mario Chalmers, said he lost $46,000 to LeBron playing poker.

LeBron and Rich Paul have been close friends since the Laker star’s high school days in Akron, Ohio. They met when Rich tried to sell him a throwback jersey.

LeBron motivated Rich to use his salesman skills to become a sports agent.

Rich founded Klutch Sports Group after he left Creative Artists Agency in 2012.

In 2019, United Talent Agency bought a majority interest in Klutch Sports, which has nearly 200 clients including former Lakers star Anthony Davis.
