Rapper Rich Homie Quan was honored with a new exhibit called “Walk Thru Time: The RHQ Experience” at Atlanta’s historic Trap Music Museum. The installation was unveiled the first week of October, to celebrate what would have been Quan’s 36th birthday.

The “Flex (Ooh Ooh Ooh)” rapper died in his Atlanta home on September 5, 2024. He was 34. He leaves behind four sons and a daughter.

The coroner reported Quan died from an accidental drug overdose of fentanyl, alprazolam, codeine, and promethazine.

Quan’s father, Corey Lamar, told Fox5 News at the exhibit’s unveiling, “I’m ecstatic, sad that it has to be this way, but grateful for him to be acknowledged.”

“Our son’s dream was always bigger than music,” said Corey, founder of the Rich As In Spirit Foundation. “This weekend celebrates his talent, his heart, and the legacy he built for his city and fans. Through the foundation, we continue his mission to inspire and give back.”

Quan is best known for his hit 2013 single “Type of Way”, which peaked at number 50 on the Billboard Hot 100. His 2015 single, “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)”, peaked at number 26 on the chart.

The Trap Music Museum is the brainchild of rapper Tip “T.I.” Harris. It opened in 2019 at 630 Travis St NW Atlanta, GA.
