Black Twitter Drags Serena Williams for Being ‘Cringe’ and ‘Desperate’

Black Twitter spent the entire weekend dragging retired tennis champ Serena Williams for “trying to look sexy.”

Serena was the honoree at the 2025 Baby2Baby Gala in West Hollywood on Saturday, Nov. 8.

Baby2Baby is a nonprofit organization that provides diapers, formula, clothing and other basic necessities for children living in poverty.

Serena was in Spain to an achievement award last month. At the time, fans praised the tennis star for showing off her post-retirement body.

But now those same fans are dragging Serena for being “desperate” by showing off her same body. What changed?

A third person wrote: “She’s her own, unique person, attractive as herself. Desperation to be something other than oneself is always cringe.”
