Tyler Perry was handed a legal victory in court against his s*xual harassment accuser, Derek Dixon.

Back in June, Tyler was hit with a $260 million assault lawsuit by “The Oval” actor, who accused the famed playwright of workplace harassment.

Derek accused Tyler of using his influence as leverage to force Derek to submit to numerous s*xual advances.

Tyler challenged the jurisdiction and filed a motion to move the case from California to Georgia, where the alleged incidents occurred.

The courts agreed.

According to Pam Esquire the Law Intellect on Youtube, Tyler’s motion to switch the lawsuit jurisdiction from California to Georgia has been granted.

A judge also ruled that the statute of limitations to file a complaint against Tyler has run out.

Derek says the harassment began in September 2019 when he met Tyler while working at his studio launch event in Atlanta. He filed his lawsuit in California in June 2025.

In Georgia, the statute of limitations for workplace s*xual harassment (civil) is generally 180 days from the last incident to file with the EEOC, but it’s much shorter than for s*xual assault, while for civil lawsuits related to s*xual assault/abuse, it’s typically two years.

That means Derek waited too late to file his lawsuit.

Tyler was named the highest paid director/filmmaker in entertainment by Forbes magazine in 2011.
