A Florida man who threatened his barber with a firearm at a Perrine barbershop is a 49-year-old convicted felon, online records show.
The incident unfolded on Nov. 25 at Square Biz in Perrine. According to reports, customer Darious Davis argued with his barber over his hairline.
“You’re tripping right now,” barber Samuel Wilson told Davis. “I’m tripping right now?” Davis responded.
The argument escalated and Davis left the barber shop. He returned moments later armed with a handgun and pointed it at Wilson.
“He wasn’t a man when he had that gun. He slapped me in the head with it, choked me out.” Wilson told Local 10 News.
Davis waved the gun and threatened Wilson in front of another customer and his two minor children.
Security video of the incident went viral on social media.
Police arrested Darious Davis during a traffic stop on November 28. He is currently being held at the Metrowest Detention Center on $35,000 bail.
Davis faces charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and use of a firearm to commit a felony, Local 10 News reports.
Court records show Davis’ previous convictions include cocaine possession in 1993, armed robbery charges in 1993 and 1998, and burglary with assault in 1998.
He previously served 18 years in prison.
If Davis makes bond he is ordered to wear a GPS ankle monitor while on house arrest.
