Ja Rule may be a good rapper but he sucks at golf. Ja’s errant tee shot nearly hit someone during the Derek Jeter Invitational Golf tournament at the Royal Blue Golf Course in Nassau, Bahamas.
The incident happened when Ja participated in the celebrity shootout on Tuesday, December 16.
Apparently, Ja didn’t practice his golf swing because the ball nearly bounced off Golfweek writer Adam Schupak’s head in the gallery.
Adam wrote about his close call in a post on X (Twitter).
“Ja Rule almost took me and a bunch of photographers out with his tee shot in the celebrity shootout at the Derek Jeter Invitational.”
Adam shared a video of Ja Rule’s wild swing. The embarrassed rapper apologized to Adam and the other spectators.

The annual charity golf event is hosted by Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Derek Jeter’s Turn 2 Foundation. The foundation uses proceeds from the golf tournament to empower youth.
In addition to Ja Rule, other invited guests included Anthony Anderson, Tino Martinez, John McEnroe, Ahmad Rashad, CC Sabathia, Nick Swisher, Chris Tucker, Tiki Barber, Kevin Connolly, D-Nice, Jerry Ferrara, Andruw Jones, Angie Martinez, Bernie Williams, Dontrelle Willis and more.
The Derek Jeter Invitational kicked off on Monday, December 15, with a private party at Jon Batiste’s Jazz Club.
The evening featured performances by Ja Rule and DJ D-Nice.
Ja Rule also played in DJ Khaled We The Best Foundation 3rd Annual Golf Classic at Miami Beach Golf Club in Miami Beach, Florida, on December 4.
