Shannon Sharpe commented after Sherrone Moore lost his coaching job at the University of Michigan for having an “inappropriate relationship” with his assistant.
The university’s athletic department fired Moore, 39, on Wednesday, December 10, after an investigation determined the married coach was having an affair with his executive assistant, Paige Shiver, 31.
Shannon discussed Moore’s situation with cohosts Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson and Joe Johnson on last night’s episode of his “Nightcap” podcast.
“You never think a situation like this can happen to you,” he said. “I can imagine. 6, 7 months ago I went through something very similar. So I know what that storm is like.”
Shannon recently settled a $50 million lawsuit with his former girlfriend. He also lost his ESPN job and a media deal worth over $100 million.

After Sherrone Moore lost his $13.8 million coaching job, he argued with his wife, Kelli Moore, then went to Paige Shiver’s home in Saline, Michigan, broke in, and held a knife to his neck while threatening to kill himself and Shiver.
He reportedly yelled that Shiver ruined his life.
Police took Moore into custody at a church on Wednesday night, after his wife shared his cell phone location with officers.
Shiver deleted her X (Twitter) page after the news broke and her name went viral on Wednesday. She also set her Instagram page to private.
According to reports, an investigation into their relationship began after the athletic department received a tip from a DoorDash driver who delivered Plan B pills to Moore’s office on campus.
Plan B pills are over-the-counter emergency contraceptives that prevent pregnancies after unprotected s*x.
According to UM Salary, Moore nearly doubled Shiver’s salary from $58,025 to $90,000 in 2024 after she aborted their unborn child.
Shiver is the daughter of veteran Chicago Bears scout Jeff Shiver. She was profiled by the Chicago Bears in 2016 while fighting an illness.
