Record executive L.A. Reid has settled a s*x assault lawsuit with a former employee.

Variety reports Reid reached a settlement with music executive Drew Dixon, who accused him of s*xually assaulting her in 2001.

Dixon filed a lawsuit against Reid in Manhattan’s Federal District Court in November 2023. She accused the LaFace Records co-founder of assaulting her when they worked together at Arista Records.

Reid, 66, was president and CEO of Arista at the time the s*x assaults began.

Dixon claims the incidents occurred during a private flight and in his car.

According to documents obtained by PEOPLE, Dixon, 53, alleges her career was “derailed” by Reid after she told him about previous assaults by her supervisors.

The case was scheduled to go to trial on Monday, January 12, but Reid and Dixon reached a settlement out of court.

The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Kenya Davis, Dixon’s attorney, praised her in a statement on Monday.

“Drew has been one of the most courageous and outspoken supporters of survivors of s*xual abuse,” Davis said. “Her advocacy, including her instrumental role in advancing the Adult Survivors Act, has helped shift the balance of power in the music industry, creating a path to justice for survivors.”

Musician John Legend was among the people scheduled to testify at the trial.
