Ari Lennox regrets dating “toxic” men while ignoring “sweet” men who are getting married and raising families while she’s still single.
The 34-year-old R&B singer and songwriter made the comments in a podcast interview on SiriusXM.

“I think I have a thing for [men with] toxic energy,” she said in a recent episode of “Effective Immediately” podcast.
“I think there’s still some more healing that I need to do,” she added. “When I look back on all of these [toxic] energies… it’s a shame I gave them so much time and there were [men with] sweet energies that I didn’t.”

Now that she’s getting older, Ari says she sees those sweet men getting married and starting families.
Meanwhile, the dating pool is shrinking for picky women like her who only date thugs and other toxic men.
“I’m just like dang that could’ve been me if I recognized the security in those individuals at the time… I’m definitely feeling that now. I’m aware there’s something going on. There’s something wrong,” she said.

When asked what attracts her to men with toxic energy, Ari said they “just seemed really exciting at first. The chemistry is incredible… And they don’t even always be fine. It’s not even like they’re sexy or something. I mean, well, they’re sexy but they don’t be the finest things I’ve ever seen.”
Ari said men with sweet energies are boring. “I could see myself falling asleep a little bit on the phone. So I don’t know if that’s, like, if boring is good or not. I’m trying to figure out what that means…”
