A TikTok user spotted dozens of like new coffee makers lining shelves at a local Goodwill store. She speculated that a hotel donated the coffee makers to the Goodwill store.

“Y’all, what hotel has donated every single one of their coffee makers to my Goodwill,” she said in a TikTok video.

The strange sighting comes after a travel influencer showed her followers how to use hotel coffee makers to wash their underwear.

TikTok user Tara Woodcox posted a video explaining how to boil underwear in a hotel coffee maker. In her viral video, Tara dropped her panties into the coffee filter compartment and pressed brew. She showed how hot boiling water washes the underwear clean.

Tara said she learned the tip from a flight attendant and “tons of people already do this.”

Now she’s being sued by a hotel chain after guests recognized the room she was in and called the hotel demanding refunds.

Some hotel guests already suspected coffee makers in hotel rooms are not sanitary.

In response to the backlash, the unnamed hotel replaced every coffee maker in every room and compensated hotel guests.

Now the hotel is suing Tara for $1 million in damages. The hotel cited financial losses and damage to its reputation.

Travel tip: Don’t ever use hotel coffee makers to brew coffee.
