Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has been reassigned to another position. The White House announced Noem’s reassignment on Thursday.
Noem thanked Trump for appointing her as the new Special Envoy for the Shield of the Americas.
As for why Noem was reassigned, CBS News reports that two administration officials said the president was unhappy with the fallout from the immigration operations in Minnesota.
Trump was particularly troubled by the deaths of two US citizens (Renee Good and Alex Pretti) at the hands of federal agents.
“President Trump is grateful to @KristiNoem for helping usher in the most secure border in American history, and he looks forward to her continuing to serve in her new important role,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt wrote on X.com.
Trump named Oklahoma Senator Markwayne Mullin to replace Noem as the new head of DHS.
Leavitt assured Americans that Sen. Mullin is “extraordinarily qualified” for the job and that the White House will work to get him confirmed in the Senate “as quickly as possible”.
“President Trump’s immigration agenda is keeping our borders secure and deporting illegal alien criminals from our country, and it will continue without interruption,” she said.
Noem’s reassignment came days after Trump ordered missile strikes in Iran that killed Supreme leader Ali Khamenei and his top officials.
There are reports that Iranian sleeper cells are in the U.S. and there may be terrorist attacks on U.S. soil.
Kristi Noem made the job about her, her hair, her makeup, her outfits, her vanity. It was a giant distraction from the mission.
She did the same sh*t as governor of South Dakota. Once the cameras turned on she forgot about the people and went on a personal PR mission. Not cute.…
