Houston activist Quanell X protested a gas station after an employee recorded a 9-year-old boy relieving himself outside.

Activists and community members, led by Quanell X and Dr. Matthews, marched to the gas station and demanded to speak to the owner.

Quanell explained that a convenience store employee told the boy the restroom was out of service and told him to go outside in the back to relieve himself. The worker then recorded the child.

Quanell X said the employee showed the video to children leaving school. “Do you realize that that video is p*rnographic, that that video is se*ual in nature?” Quanell told an employee.

He urged customers to boycott the store after the video went viral. “You shouldn’t spend one go****n dollar in this store,” Quanell X told a customer.

Activists also called for the police to file charges against the worker. The boy’s family said the viral video led to bullying, causing emotional distress for the child.

Police confirmed that the incident is under investigation and police are looking into how the video of a minor was distributed.

Community members called for accountability and changes in how children are handled in public spaces.

No charges have been filed and the child’s identify has not been made public.
