A preliminary hearing for jailed singer D4vd was held on the 1-year anniversary of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s death.
The L.A. County medical examiner announced Celeste suffered multiple stab wounds that caused her death on April 23, 2025.

The “Romantic Homicide” singer appeared in court on Thursday, wearing a jail-issued orange uniform.
Prosecutors told the judge, D4vd’s iPhone contained a “significant” amount of child p*rn that requires special handling. Friends said he previously bragged that he had 100’s of hours of p*rn recorded with underaged girls.

The defense attorneys told the judge the prosecution had not turned over evidence to the defense. The prosecution claimed to have over 40 terabytes of data collected from the singer’s devices and iCloud storage accounts.
The data includes police body cam videos, livestream videos, DNA evidence, photos, cell phone videos, and forensic reports.

Prosecutors said they will turn over all evidence to D4vd’s defense team. The prosecution advised the defense to provide a 10 terabyte hard drive for data from D4vd’s iCloud account alone.
Celeste’s family members were in court on Thursday.
