Jamila Adams, Stefon Diggs’ ex-personal chef, testified in Dedham District Court on day 1 of Diggs’ assault trial.
Diggs pleaded not guilty to felony strangulation and misdemeanor assault on Monday, May 4, in Dedham, Massachusetts.
Adams was the first witness called by prosecutors on Monday. She accused Diggs of s*xual assault and strangulation while she was his live-in chef.
During her emotional testimony on the witness stand, Adams recalled the abuse she suffered.

Adams testified that the incident happened at his home on Dec. 2, 2025. She also described a heated text message exchange over paychecks she said he owed her.
In a Dedham Police Department report, Adams claimed Diggs choked and slapped her during an argument over her pay.

The former New England Patriots wide receiver denied strangling or attacking Adams. She reported pain and difficulty swallowing after the alleged assault.
Defense attorneys challenged Adams’ allegations in court. The defense said the assault never happened. They pointed out that Adams didn’t take photos of her alleged injuries and failed to disclose to police that she and Diggs were involved in an intimate relationship while she lived in his home.
Under cross examination, Adams admitted she and Diggs were intimate – while he was dating rapper Cardi B.
The defense portrayed Adams as a scorned woman who was upset about being left out of a trip to Miami. The lawyers suggested that her anger may have played a role in her allegations.
“We have to look at why she would lie about this, and the defense is bringing out information,” said Boston attorney Elyse Hershon, a legal analyst who is not involved in the case.
Hershon said the defense will try to discredit Adams.
“She deleted text messages before she went to the police and showed an angry exchange between her and Diggs. That doesn’t look good,” Hershon added. “So something that doesn’t look good is something the defense will use in their closing — to really say you can’t believe her, you can’t trust her, she lied, she just wanted money.”
