If you planned to heat up a frozen TV meal for dinner tonight, read this post first. The U.S.D.A’s Food Safety Service is recalling 35,000 pounds of contaminated frozen TV dinners.
The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced that Valley Fine Foods has recalled “approximately 35,516 pounds of heat-treated, not fully cooked meat and poultry products” that might contain “spoilage organisms that have rendered it unwholesome and unfit” for human consumption.
In other words, the contaminated TV dinners will give you the runs.
The affected dinners are the Simple Dishes line that consist of Chicken Penne Alfredo, Chicken Primavera, Italian Sausage Ziti and Rigatoni with Meatballs and a Mushroom Cream Sauce.

According to a press release, the frozen meat products were sold in grocery stores in the U.S. between Aug. 15 and Oct. 4.
Stores that received the shipments are located in the following states: California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, and North Carolina.
If you live in those states you should check your frozen TV dinner package for the numbers P-22102B or M-22102B.
Don’t feed the contaminated dinners to your dogs or cats. Food that is unfit for human consumption is also unfit for animal consumption.
